GertsKid, a transplanted Kentuckian, fell in love with The Gourd at a
craft festival in Corydon Indiana the summer of 1998. Ironically,
previous artistic endeavors were confined to less than memorable pencil
renderings of stick people. But her pal, Jim Bob, bought her a dozen
anyway. She crafted them. She begged for more. He obliged. The rest is
history. GertsKid is a juried artist with KCMP and winner of numerous
awards for her whimsical creations. Her work can be viewed and
